Because they’re dirty and they stink! Trash cans are breeding grounds for viruses and harmful bacteria, including E. Coli, Salmonella, & Listeria. Items that are commonly thrown in the garbage can also attract rodents and bugs.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Why should I have my cans cleaned?
- Why don’t I just clean my cans myself?
Because cleaning them yourself is not as effective as when we use our powerful system. Manual cleaning only scratches the surface and doesn’t get rid of germs, but our solution cleans, deodorizes and sanitizes your cans getting rid of 99.9% of germs, bacteria and diseases that breed in your cans, such as Tuberculosis, Strep, Staph, E-Coli, Salmonella and Listeria commonly found in cans. If we have to use detergent, we use biodegradable mixtures which don’t hurt the environment like household cleaners.
- How often should I have them cleaned?
Monthly cleaning (every 4 weeks) is the most effective and economical of our service plans, but you can decide which plan works best for your needs. The less often the cans are cleaned, the more difficult our job is, so this is reflected in our prices.
- What areas do you service?
As of February 2023, we currently service Thibodaux (toward Labadieville to Waverly Road and toward Chackbay up to the Church), Raceland and Mathews (up to the Gheens Road), and most of Houma. The Houma area includes Bayou Blue, and part of Bourg! If you’re not sure if you’re within this boundary, simply go through the sign-up process and we’ll let you know if you are out of our area.
- Do I need to sign a contract?
No. You do not have to sign a contract. We offer monthly subscription (once every 4 weeks) or quarterly subscription (once every 12 weeks) with no contract and we offer a one-time cleaning option. We do have a three cleanings minimum in order to get the monthly subscription pricing and 2 cleanings minimum in order to get the quarterly subscription pricing. If you chose to cancel your subscription after the required number of cleanings, we reserve the right to charge you the balance of a one-time clean rate since the first cleaning is the most time-consuming.
- I am really impressed with my one-time service, can I upgrade to a monthly or quarterly service?
Yes, within the first thirty days of your one-time cleaning, you can reach out to us via email or text and let us know you want to be added to either our monthly or quarterly subscription service. We will give you $20 off your first service subscription rate.
- Why should I pay for a one time clean when I can just sign up for a monthly or quarterly clean and then cancel after the first visit?
All monthly services are for a minimum of three visits and quarterly services are for a minimum of two visits. If you choose to cancel after only one visit you will be charged the difference to the value of a one-time clean.
- What if there is a problem with the cleaning or I’m not happy with it?
At Clean Dat Can we offer a 100% trash can clean guarantee. This means if you are not pleased with your cleaning and we will try to fix that at no additional charge and if we are unable to correct any issue we will not charge you or we will give your money back.
- When do you perform the cleanings?
The day after trash collection. You will be notified by text and/or email the day before your scheduled cleaning date. Just leave your can leave it at the curb. If you must move the cans up from the curb overnight, please leave them where we can easily find them to perform the cleaning and as usual, we will put them back up from the curb for you after the cleaning. If there is an issue with your HOA guidelines, we can provide details to them to explain our service.
- Do you offer a military discount?
Yes, we do offer a military discount to active duty, participating reservists, or retired military members, as well as Senior Citizens 60 years old and over. We will give a 10% discount on each payment for our monthly, quarterly or one-time services. We reserve the right to have you email us proof of status.
- How will I know that my cans have been cleaned?
You will receive a notification via email and text as soon as your technician has completed your clean. We will also leave our identifiable removable tape on the lid to assure you the work has been done. For your first monthly or quarterly subscription service, we will place our unique identifiable tag on the handle of the can. The tag is tamper-proof and we ask that you leave it on the can so that we know what can is part of the subscription.
- How does it work?
We will come the day after your trash is picked up, which assures the cans will be empty when we arrive. We bring the cans to the street, where we use a hydraulic bin grabber to lift them over our high pressure cleaning head, using 180 degree water to clean & disinfect the cans. We remove all dirt and grime, but we cannot guarantee that we will be able remove dried paint, tar, adhesives (this includes chewing gum), etc. The outside of the can is also pressure washed with hot water, followed by a spray of deodorizer to help the inside smell clean. Plastics do absorb smells, so it could take some time with regular cleanings to do away with all of the odors.
- What if I need to reschedule my cleaning?
Not a problem, things happen, vacations, etc. We kindly ask that you let us know in advance. That is very simple to do with the advanced notifications that we send out via email/text. They include a link to notify us that you need to reschedule! Please keep in mind, that we may not be able to put you back on to the schedule for 4 weeks, as our routes typically dictate the timeframe. If you alert us in advance, there will be no charge to be rescheduled. If communication has not been made in advance by you, you may be subject to a rescheduling fee if we show up to the house and no cans are available to be cleaned.
- Will my trash cans be spotless?
Customer satisfaction is our #1 priority. We will make every effort to get your bins as clean as possible! We want them all to look brand new, but the reality is that most trash cans have been heavily abused for many years. We will use several different techniques to remove stubborn stains and gunk, but sometimes it takes multiple treatments to get everything off the inside. This is another reason we recommend our subscription plans. Your cans will continue to get better and better with each treatment. All that said, if you are not happy with the result, then we are not happy. Please reach out if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, and we will do what it takes to make it right for you!
